Washington Registered Nurse: 45 Hours Needed
Nurses will renew their licenses every 3 years (by their birthday) and must complete 531 practice hours along with 45 hours of continuing education. Courses will be accepted if approved by a credentialing agency for nursing CE or if the courses are relevant to the nurse’s scope of practice.
RNs and LPNs: Required 45 contact hours every three year licensing period. There is a one-time requirement of 7 contact hours in HIV/AIDS at initial licensure.
ARNPs: Required 30 contact hours in area of specialty every two licensing period, an additional 15 hours in pharmacotherapeutics if prescriptive authority.
Renewal fee is $97.
