California Licensed Practical Nurse: 30 Hours Needed
Initial Licensure and Renewal
California Licensed Practical Nurses do not have to complete any CE hours.
Every Renewal Period Post First Renewal
California Licensed Practical Nurses must complete 30 hours of CE every licensure and renewal period. The contents of these courses must be relevant to the practice of nursing and from a CE provider approved by the California Board
Initial Registered Nurse licenses are issued for two (birthdays), and will expire on the last day of the month following your birthday. After that point, the license will renew every two years. More information about licensure can be found on the California Board website.
